Columbia’s Eating Disorders Program offers day treatment to help individuals normalize their weight and eating behaviors. The Columbia University Eating Disorders Program (CEDP) at East
60th Street is unique in the metropolitan area for its comprehensive and evidence-based
treatment for individuals with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and
associated conditions. Program Overview
SettingThe program is housed in a modern, comfortable space, conveniently located
on the East Side of Manhattan accessible to transportation, shopping
and Central Park. Program LeadershipEvelyn Attia, MD, supervises the team of specialists at CEDP, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nutritionists and occupational therapists. Dr. Attia is the Director of Columbia’s Eating Disorders Research Program, and a recognized expert in the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders. Joy Bauer, MS,RD,CDN, a leading nutrition expert and founder of Joy Bauer Nutrition, serves as the nutritional consultant to the program. ReferralsReferrals may be made by patients, family members, clinicians or treatment facilities. The Columbia University Eating Disorders Program may be recommended as part of a comprehensive treatment plan aimed to preclude the need for higher levels of care or to provide transitional support following discharge from an inpatient or residential setting.
